General

General holds your business name, address...

Applies to LBM 2.x Updated 1 November 2026

These are the first three cards on the Settings page. Most of the values were filled in by the installer; this is where you change them.

General #

Settings > General holds your business name, address and billing email address, as invoices and emails use them. It also holds the address clients reach the site on.

  • Use the full address with https://. Links in emails and the return pages of payment gateways are built from it.
  • The billing email address is the address emails come from unless Settings > Mail says otherwise.
  • You can upload a logo and add custom CSS here if your release has those boxes.
Note

To confirm: the exact fields on the General screen of your release (logo, custom CSS, address lines).

Localisation #

Settings > Localisation sets the time zone, the language, and how dates, times and numbers are written. The installer offers these date formats: Y-m-d, d/m/Y, m/d/Y, d M Y, M d, Y and d-m-Y, with matching date-and-time formats.

LBM has English, French and Spanish for its screens. Email and SMS templates are in English; edit the text to write in another language (see Email and SMS).

Set the time zone before you have invoices: due dates and the scheduler follow it.

Currencies #

Settings > Currencies lists the currencies you offer and their rates against the default.

  • One currency is the default. Changing it re-quotes the other rates.
  • Prices are typed in the default currency; other currencies are converted from it at the current rate unless you type a price for that currency yourself (a typed price always wins).
  • A currency can be rate only (used for display and conversion, not for sales).
  • A client has one currency. Admin totals are shown in the default currency, with each payment at the rate kept when it came in, not today's.
  • Exchange rates can be updated daily if you switch that on.
Warning

Do not change the default currency after you have taken payments unless you have to. Use Settings > Utilities to move clients between currencies (the "move currency" tool) rather than editing rates.

Statuses and the country database #

  • Statuses set the colour of the status pills (paid, overdue, open, suspended). Colour only: the names are part of how LBM works.
  • GeoIP is the country database used to guess a visitor's language, country and currency. Keep it updated if you rely on it.
