Go to your site's address plus /admin (for example https://billing.example.com/admin) and sign in with the owner account you made in the installer.

Note

To confirm: the admin address is /admin unless it was renamed in config/app.php with the admin key. Staff and clients sign in on separate pages.

Turn on two-factor sign-in #

Two-factor sign-in asks for a six-digit code from an authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes, after the password. The owner can do anything, so protect it first.

  1. Open your own account page (My account).
  2. Turn on two-factor sign-in and scan the code with an authenticator app.
  3. Keep the recovery codes somewhere safe.

If someone loses their phone and codes, a member of staff with the right permission can turn two-factor off for them from the staff screen. See Staff, roles and security.

A good order to set things up in #

  1. Business details and currencies: Business details, language and currencies.
  2. Email: Email and SMS. Send a test email.
  3. Payment gateways: Payment gateways. Use test mode first.
  4. Billing and tax: Billing, tax and orders.
  5. Servers, if services are set up automatically: Servers and provisioning modules.
  6. Products: Products, configurable options and add-ons.
  7. Domains, if you sell them: Domains and registrars.
  8. Staff and roles: Staff, roles and security.
  9. Check the scheduler: Setting up the scheduler.

Try a whole order #

Before you open to customers, place a test order as a client: choose a plan, pay the invoice through a gateway in test mode, and watch the service get created. Fix anything that is off while only you can see it.

Tip

Settings > Utilities > System status lists anything wrong with the installation: a missing extension, a folder that cannot be written, a cron that is not running.
