Plugins are optional features that only some businesses need. A plugin you do not switch on never loads and costs nothing. Everything a plugin adds (screens, pages, settings, scheduled work) is in its own folder, so switching it off or removing it removes all of it.
Open Settings > Plugins.
Switching a plugin on #
Each plugin is listed with what it does. Switch it on and, if it has settings, a Configure link appears. A plugin may also add its own entry to the admin menu.
A plugin that is off does not load at all. Turning it on takes effect on the next page.
Plugins in this release #
Your release may include some of these:
| Plugin | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chat | A live-chat button on your site. Staff answer from an inbox; with nobody online, the message is filed as a support ticket. |
| Noticeboard | Notices shown to clients and visitors. |
| SEO | Page titles, descriptions and the sitemap of the public site. |
| Tag Manager | Add a Google Tag Manager container to your pages. |
| Custom Code | Add your own HTML, CSS or script to pages. |
| Licence Manager | Sell and manage licences for your own software, through the reseller licence server. |
| Network Monitor | Monitor devices and links for an ISP. |
Installing a new plugin #
On Settings > Plugins you can add a plugin:
- from the catalogue on laikait.com (the plugins page lists what is there), or
- by uploading a zip you have.
Plugins are checked before they are installed, and you can remove one at any time. Plugin updates appear on the same page.
Permissions #
Each plugin brings its own permissions, which you give to roles under Settings > Roles, so you can let some staff use a plugin without giving them the rest of Settings.
To confirm: the exact list of plugins in your release, and which of them have a catalogue update.
