Overview
Laika Bill Manager (LBM) overview
Laika Bill Manager (LBM) is billing and client-management software for hosting companies, ISPs and other businesses that sell services on a schedule. You install it on your own server, so your clients, invoices and money stay with you.
What it does #
- Billing: invoices, quotes, credit notes, payments, tax, promo codes, late fees and reminders.
- Selling: an order form and shop for plans, add-ons, bundles and domains, with prices in more than one currency.
- Setting services up: when an order is paid, LBM can create the account for you on a hosting panel, a router or a RADIUS server (see Servers and provisioning modules).
- Clients: a client area where customers pay invoices, manage services and domains, and open support tickets.
- Staff tools: roles and permissions, an activity log, reports, email and SMS templates, a REST API and webhooks.
- Plugins: optional features you switch on only if you need them, such as live chat.
How it is built #
LBM is made of modules. The core (billing, clients, orders, support and so on) is always there. Payment gateways, server modules, registrars and mailers are separate folders: a module you do not use can be left out, and only that module goes.
The three places you will work in #
| Place | Address | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| The public site | your address, such as https://billing.example.com/ | visitors and customers |
| The client area | the same address, once signed in | your clients |
| The admin | /admin after your address (it can be renamed) | you and your staff |
Note
To confirm: the default admin address is /admin. It can be changed in the site's config/app.php with the admin key.
Where to go next #
- Check the server requirements.
- Get a licence key, a free trial works.
- Install LBM and set up the scheduler.
