Moving

To move LBM to a new server or address

A licence key is locked to the domain, the directory and the server it was first activated on. To move LBM to a new server or address, the licence has to be released from the old place first.

Moving to another server #

  1. Back up the database, and the config/ folder (it holds your connection and your keys, including the vault key).
  2. Ask Laika IT to reissue the licence for the new address (see Contact). A reseller or provider you bought from can do this for you.
  3. Install LBM on the new server and restore the database and config/. Use the same config/Shared.php: the vault key must not change, or stored secrets cannot be read.
  4. Open Settings > Utilities > Licence and press Check now. The licence server activates the key for the new place.
  5. Check the scheduler on the new server: the cron line is per server.
Warning

Do not delete the old install until the new one shows as licensed. Until the old place is released, the key will not activate on the new one.

Changing the domain only #

The same applies: the licence is tied to the domain, so ask for a reissue, change the address in Settings > General, and press Check now.

A copy for testing #

Do not run a second copy of a production key. Use a developer licence for a staging copy (see Getting a licence key). Copies on localhost, .test and .local addresses need no licence.

To confirm: how long a reissue takes, and whether it can be done from the client area. Ask Laika IT if you need it urgently.
